| Visit to Yorkshire Air Ambulance |
| August 13, 2009 | |

A number of Governing Board members and support staff were invited to visit the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) on Wednesday 13 August. We were fortunate that there were no emergencies at the time of our visit, so we had a very useful talk from the crew, could ask lots of questions and were even able to sit inside the helicopter. We met the pilot, the two paramedics (who are seconded from Yorkshire Ambulance Service) and even the BBC filmmaker records the work of the YAA for their series 'Helicopter Heroes'. YAA is entirely funded by charitable donations and it costs £7200 per day to keep both helicopters maintained and in the air. We may be able to arrange another visit in the future. Contact us if you are interested.
