Sheffield Local Involvement Network

LINk has just found out about a local consultation called 'more choice for patients', which asks for your views on local services or treatments that could be delivered by more than one organisation from September 2012. The consultation closes on Friday.

This has come in response to a call from the Department of Health to identify these services for each region - in our case the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw cluster of PCTs which includes NHS Sheffield. They have identified the following services that could fit the criteria:  

• diagnostic tests such as ultrasound, MRI, and CT scans
• services to help with the self-management of long-term conditions
• community chemotherapy, including home chemotherapy
• physiotherapy services to treat back and neck pain
• dementia care and memory services.
