Telecare discussion groups go well
February 22, 2011

telecare group imageJill Thompson, a research asssociate at the University of Sheffield was delighted she asked Sheffield LINk to help with her research project. We organised 2 discussion groups for her to talk to small groups of members about telecare and telehealth products, "I approached LINk so I could speak to people with a wide range of views both as users and carers; and I'm really glad I did".

Around 15 people attended over the two sessions discussing a wide range of topics including current perceptions of telecare products, how should they be promoted and to whom. Jill went on to say that "those who attended had many valuable experiences to share and some great suggestions for raising awareness that I would never have thought of. Thank you for your help with this". Speaking to some of those who attended, they agreed that it was a very interesting subject and had been a good discussion.

The meetings were recorded and the responses will be analysed and incorporated into recommendations for the strategy for these products.
