The Support Team

A small team provides day-to-day support to the members and Governing Board of Sheffield LINk with administration, research, membership, communication, events and publicity. They are employed directly by the host, Voluntary Action Sheffield to work with Sheffield LINk. Find out LINk members' views from the Support Team Survey summer 2010 .

Mandy Bryce

LINk Co-ordinator

Mandy is the new Sheffield LINk Co-ordinator and joined the team in October 2011.  She leads the support team and is the main liaison person with Voluntary Action Sheffield and the local health and social care services. 

Mandy is no stranger to LINk having worked on its development way back in 2008. She brings huge amounts of relevant experience, having worked as a self-employed organisational consultant for voluntary and public sector organisations, including NHS trusts. In her spare time she is a yoga teacher at the Sheffield Yoga Centre.

Heather Hughes

Heather Hughes
Communication and Information Officer

Heather is the Communication and Information Officer. She joined Sheffield LINk in November 2008 and works Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Heather has 15 years experience in the private sector working previously in retail, publishing and multimedia. She has an MBA and spent 7 years as a management consultant specialising in communication and engagement.

Her accent gives away her years spent in London although she loves her adopted city of Sheffield. Heather misses all the travelling she used to do but is happy settled here with her husband and young son.

Julia Brown

Development Officer

Julia is our almost full-time Development Officer. She joined Sheffield LINk in December 2009 as Administrator and was promoted in August 2010. Before LINk, she worked with Sheffield Homes and various housing Associations in roles ranging from managing a sheltered housing scheme to working as a homeless officer. Julia lives with her 17-year old son and two cats. She is currently training for the London Moonwalk in May, when she (and 15,000 others) will walk a marathon at night, wearing a decorated bra, to raise money for breast cancer research and charities.

Michelle Wood

Development Officer

Michelle is our part-time Development Officer and works Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. She joined Sheffield LINk in August 2009 after having worked for both the statutory and the voluntary community sector, most notably in Darnall for Darnall Forum. Her roles have mostly involved working with children and young people. Although she has worked for both sectors, her heart lies with voluntary and community work.

She is also dedicated to animal welfare and has a number of rescue animals at home to keep her busy, She has volunteered with Sheffield Animal Shelter for a number of years and recently celebrated their move to new premises in Attercliffe.

Andrew Crooks

Development Officer

Andrew is a part-time Development Officer. He joined Sheffield LINk in January 2010 and job-shares with Michael working Monday am, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Andrew spent the last three years working in Croydon, South London as a Community Involvement Worker helping to involve older and disabled people in community development. Being a disabled person and a long-time human rights campaigner. Andrew is passionate about equality for all of our communities. He is married to Helen and has a young daughter.

Aimee Hilton

Administrator

Aimee is our full-time Administrator. She replaced Jessica Gaskell in June 2011.

Originally from Bolton, Aimee came to Sheffield as a student.  She then qualified to level 4 in British Sign Language and worked for more than 10 years supporting deaf and hearing impaired people in education and community settings.  In her spare time, Aimee is a very keen cyclist and she also likes growing her own vegetables, cooking and, especially, eating.
