Stacy joined Sheffield LINk on September 14 for 8 weeks to work with the Equipment and Adaptation Action Group (E&A) As part of the NHS Graduate Management Scheme, she is spending time with a non-NHS organisation and we're delighted that she wanted to come to us. Stacey has just completed a stint as Assistant General Manager of Surgery at Sheffield Children's hospital and will be going to commissioning in NHS Sheffield when she finishes with us. Stacy will be analysing the results of the equipment and adaptations survey that we carried out in September. She will also be running some patient forums, or focus groups, around this area and then comparing the situation in Sheffield with that in other UK cities. Her research will culminate in a report for the E&A Action Group to decide targeted areas of improvement to discuss with Sheffield City Council. Stacy said 'I am grateful to Sheffield LINk for offering me the opportunity to have a new perspective of the NHS and health and social care provision in general. I hope to learn about voluntary organisations and carry that knowledge into my future NHS career.' Stacy comes originally from Leicester but has been in Sheffield for 3 years. Before joining this training scheme, Stacy was a science teacher and also worked in NHS laboratories. |
