Sheffield LINk has issued a ‘request for information’ to all main GP Practices. Working with the Deaf Advice Service Sheffield (DASS) and Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind, we ask about support for patients with sensory impairment. We will be sharing our findings with both these organisations and with NHS Sheffield. As of 4pm on March 14, a total of 39 out of 92 practices had completed the questionnaire and LINk will soon start to ring practices to chase their responses. Our hope is that the survey will foster the sharing of good practice and encourage all GP practices in Sheffield to offer the deaf and blind community the same service they offer to those without a sensory impairment. Requests for information are one of the LINk's legal powers as enshrined in the Local Government and Public Involvement Act 2007 (Part 14, section 224) and as such requires a response within 20 days of receipt of this letter. Sheffield LINk currently also has requests for information out with Sheffield City Council and NHS Sheffield. |
